Tanners in the Community
We are proud to be part of the community within which we live and work and take seriously both our social responsibility and the need to ensure that our working practices are sympathetic to the environment. Though a small firm, we endorse the involvement of partners and other members of staff in voluntary activities and pro-bono work, both during and outside of normal working hours. By way of example, members of Tanners currently play an active role in a local regeneration trust set up to provide a community centre and workshops, a local neighbourhood charity working to provide community services to improve the quality of life for residents in particular areas of deprivation, a local affordable housing project, and a cyber café established to cater for the needs of the youth within the community. We are also pleased to have sponsored both the rugby and netball teams of a local comprehensive school and a local music festival. We are also conscious of the privilege of working in an early 18th century grade II listed building within the beautiful and commercially thriving Cotswold town of Cirencester. We acknowledge our environmental responsibilities in this respect by sensitively accommodating the business of a 21st century office within our historic building. Wherever possible we have adopted environmentally friendly and energy saving policies, such as ensuring that our paper waste is collected, shredded to powder and recycled by a local company, that other waste material is recycled as far as is possible and that we use energy efficient products and source sustainable materials from local businesses.
