We are really pleased to announce that we have expanded our agricultural team, reinforcing our long-standing commitment to supporting farmers, landowners, and rural businesses across the Cotswolds and beyond.
The recent arrival of Jake Wennen, previously part of Thrings' southwest agricultural team, further strengthens our offering. Jake brings extensive experience in rural property law, particularly farm sales and purchases, making him a valuable addition to the firm’s specialist practice.
Tanners’ Agricultural team is led by, partner, Nigel Edge, an experienced rural property specialist and farmer’s son, alongside Jake Wennen and Antonia Wilkinson, all of whom have strong personal links to the farming community. They are supported by the wider property team and firm, including Richard Lloyd who undertakes strategic land/ development transactions and general commercial property work, Anna Freeland and the wider Private Client Team providing IHT, wills and trust advice, Peter Marrow and Liam Woodward providing employment, company and commercial advice and Elizabeth Gedye for litigation advice
Nigel Edge commented: " Tanners is a full-service firm and whilst we are primarily based in the Cotswolds, we assist clients across the country. As a firm, we have worked with multi-generational farming families for decades, helping clients navigate complex legal matters while ensuring their businesses are structured for the future. Many of us come from farming/ rural families, so we understand first-hand the pressures of balancing tradition with the demands of running a modern agricultural business. We don’t just advise on agricultural law - we understand the realities of the industry and the challenges our clients are facing every day."
With the continued growth of our agricultural team, Tanners reaffirms its long-standing commitment to those at the heart of the countryside. We’ve been supporting farming families since 1986, and several of our team have personal ties to the farming community. That insight shapes how we work: practical, direct and grounded in the realities of agricultural life. Whether it’s a complex farm sale, succession planning or day-to-day legal support, our clients trust us to deliver clear advice and effective solutions — no jargon, no time wasting.
